Chinese kickboxing
What is Sanda?
Sanda, also called Sanshou, is the Chinese free-sparring discipline taught at Tai Tsung. Sessions develop the ability to use striking, footwork and defensive movement with timing and control. Regular training works on fitness and composure as well as technique.
Our Chinese kickboxing classes focus on practical application and are relevant to students interested in developing sparring skills or working towards competition. Classical Kung Fu offers a complementary route through forms, fixed sparring and a structured grading syllabus.
Explore the training programme and grading syllabus, or ask an instructor which class matches your starting point.

Your first class
A clear starting point
Whether you are new to martial arts or returning after a break, start by telling us your age, experience and what you want from training. The school can advise you on class suitability and equipment before your first visit.
Our programme includes warming up, fundamental techniques, technical drills, free sparring and a cool down. Developing the foundations takes regular practice; students work on their own ability and progress under instruction.
Pay-as-you-go classes are £10. Monthly options are £40 for once-weekly classes and £60 for unlimited classes, with a separate £60 annual membership fee. See membership details and current registration options.
